“Who Needs Charters When You Have Public Schools Like These?”
New York Times, April 2017

David L. Kirp of the New York Times raves about Union Schools STEM initiative in this in-depth Op-Ed for the NYT Sunday Review.

While Union Public Schools depends on public funding for basic district operations like salaries, operating costs and classroom suppliers, the implementation of innovative programs and ideas often requires additional resources.

The Union Schools Education Foundation (USEF) is instrumental in securing private contributions to fund creative programs and recognize educators in order to profoundly impact our students. We work alongside the District and our community partners to change lives through education, experiences, and opportunities.  It is our passion to help the district rise above the status quo and to inspire teachers and students toward a future that surpasses their circumstances.
